A MCpl commands the third tank.  It is the Dozer tank.

It is now the Sqn Ops Sgt.

The SSM is usually in a LAV running the echelon.

The dozer tank can be given any number of roles in a Sqn and is used to augment other troops or work independently within a limited context granted by the OC or BC.

The 3rd tank is commanded by a Sgt and has the call sign of 16 as it's equipped with a dozer blade. The Sqn Cmd is in 1A and the Btl Capt is in 1B.  With a reduction in the number tanks in RCAC I'm not shure the dozer tank is used any more.
