    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

Sounds like validation for 2 Mech and 1 Light Infantry battalion per brigade to me!/s

Shortest full-time training commitment for P-Res

I wouldnt worry about this too much. This concept has yet to be initiated and is mainly just newspeak to deal with the lack of LAV 2 Coyote replacement which affects the regular force. Reserve armored units have a number of sub roles assigned to units but are doing largely the same DP1 they did...

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

I think you gotta play the language/population game a bit. It blows having to be shoe horned into it but due to the weak representation in the Navy and less so the RCAF you army needs to carry the difference of having units and bases in which Francophones can serve. Arguably you also need to...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

I think like the CP-140 we will likely end up with the refit complete and F-35s start coming in at the same time.

    Updated Army Service Dress project

The material and colour are pretty annoying as I'd like to be able to find a better quality shirt with the same colour for those one or two times a year but its impossible.

    Canadian Surface Combatant RFQ

Hasn't the RCN already indicated that the new class will be destroyers due to their tonnage and armaments?

    Updated Army Service Dress project

Having read the notes this seems to be a great example of the CA getting the space to do something and doing it well.

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

I believe the NATO requirement is along the lines of those police being a federal institution and trained/armed so to conduct section level operations. But even then the Gendarmie and Carbinari are very different organizations that include fully formed military units.

Shortest full-time training commitment for P-Res

11 weekends usually running Oct to Feb or Jan to Apr. Full time BMQ with the reserves is 5 weeks but thats just me being pedantic.

Shortest full-time training commitment for P-Res

Nearly all PRes trades can be completed in one summer with BMQ if you are available from May to August. I do believe that the Artillery has brought back a sorta BMQ Land so it is now something like 4 weeks. Still the shortest however but you should really base your trade off of what you want to...

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

Some people here may find this interesting (though it seems like wishful thinking on the Netherlands part). https://www.orbat85.nl/ It shows both the peacetime and wartime structure of the Netherlands military in 1985. This includes mobilization and collapsing of support/training commands into...

CAN Enhanced (Permanent?) Fwd Presence in Latvia

Why build off the LAV 6 chassis into a tracked vehicle when the US already looked at it years ago and didnt like it? As many have mentioned on here the LAV 6 chassis is at its limits and it also doesnt have the right profile for an IFV.

CAN Enhanced (Permanent?) Fwd Presence in Latvia

So am I reading correctly here that there are little to no dismounts in the Assault system?

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/federal-government-spending-freeze-1.7023982 "In dollar terms, the Department of National Defence (DND) is losing the most money — $211.1 million of the total $500 million cut. That works out to roughly 0.76 per cent of its $27.5 billion spending estimate"

    C3 Howitzer Replacement

https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/future-artillery-2023-dstl-develops-lightweight-fires-platform-to-replace-105-mm-light-gun Janes on a potential replacement for 105mm in service. Ironically upping it to 127mm.
